How Do I apply for a job?

Click on the ‘Apply Now’ link and choose which job you want to apply for from the list of open positions. Then click on the job title for more information. Click apply and create a login to governmentjobs.com in order to submit your online job application.

Is there a written exam?

Applicants for certain positions (Deputy, Correctional Officer and Dispatcher) are required to pass a written aptitude exam as part of the application process. Once you apply and meet the qualifications, the Human Resources Department schedules the exam. Click here for more information about the deputy PelletB exam.

What about the deputy physical agility test?

OBSTACLE COURSE/AGILITY RUN:
Run a 99-yard obstacle course consisting of several sharp turns, a number of curb height obstacles, and a 34-inch high obstacle that must be vaulted.

BODY DRAG:
Lift and drag 165-pound lifelike dummy 32 feet

CHAIN LINK FENCE:
Run 5 yards to a 6-foot chain link fence, climb over the fence, and continue running another 25 yards.

SOLID FENCE CLIMB:
Run 5 yards to a 6-foot solid fence, climb over the fence, and continue running another 25 yards.

500 YARD RUN: Run 500 yards.
